Hello and welcome to my newsletter!
Another season 2 instalment…
This week’s newsletter is about to get sent out in around 45 mins. Based on the last couple of days, seems like next week will be another starvation week. People have only been gifting me sugar based foods for days now, and water, while telling me how bad sugar is. World on the warpath again. Not much I can do. They’ve also blocked access to hot water, washing water and laundry water, and of course power, which is why I’m preparing this issue now to ensure something, anything, get’s sent out. Currently got another cold / mutilation, so battling a runny nose and sneezing fits.
I quite like having the newsletter prepared early, sort of takes the pressure off somewhat but I don’t like how disjointed it makes the newsletter since I add more stuff at the end of the week, by which time the theme has often changed and the title is not as relevant. Seems no matter what I do the universe finds a way to f things up. Sorry I wish the universe was better so I could put together a better newsletter. This is all I can do at the minute, what with all the harassment, starvation, sleep deprivation, malicious help and all the rest of it.
So far only two podcasts this week. Both pretty awesome though.
The first is with Ryan Dahl, creator of both NodeJS and Deno. These are serverside javascript runtime environments, and Ryan is responsible for making it possible to use javascript, the best programming language in the universe, on the server. He makes what I think is a phenomenal case for Deno which fixes many of NodeJS’s short comings. Also that Deno is written Rust instead of in C++. It feels like the core of the runtime is much much more robust than NodeJS. After listening to this episode I’m seriously considering trying to look into getting my static site generator running on it. I love that Ryan is all in on javascript, and is super bullish on the web. It feels like a great place to be when it comes to coding.
The second is from Raoul Pal who delves into what he believes is the biggest transition humanity has ever gone through, and it’s going to happen by 2030, radically changing all aspects of the societies we live in. It’s partly futurism but also practical because this stuff is happening now, and requires us to start thinking exponentially as opposed to linearly because the change is going to be so ridiculously large compared to anything we’ve seen before. Existing frameworks for economics are going to break down and stop functioning. He outlines how best to position yourself. Definitely worth listening to.
I haven’t had time to write any blog posts yet this week, but I have been writing a lot of daily notes, documenting some of the strange things happening to me here is Vietnam. Also some cool daily links there you’ll all enjoy. Check them out:

I’ll add more content to the issue at the end of the week if the week takes a turn for the better. I wish things were different and I could know that I won’t die by the end of the week so I could write a better newsletter, but that’s just not how things are for me right now. Yep I know this doesn’t feel very sustainable.
Update 1: Added a Rogan podcast with Luis Elizondo, former head of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), which investigated UFOs. I know, more alien stuff, but this one is very credible, and it’s just interesting to hear how people view this whole thing from inside the establishment.
Update 2: I added 9 awesome podcasts! From Eth, Bitcoin, Gold, the Telegram Durov situation, the magic chill world of lofi Hip Hop, Labour economy & short selling, beautiful paradoxes, and beautiful buddhism, and peace ☮️ ✌️🕊
Update 3: I nearly forgot, I wrote 5 blog posts! I bet you’ll all find something you’ll like in there somewhere, here they are:

Britain’s Ukraine aid situation https://markjgsmith.com/notes/2024/08/30/britains-ukraine-aid-situation
Update 4: I added another blog post and podcast. Particularly interesting if you are from the UK. We are literally being enslaved. Find out exactly or at least directionally how it’s happening. It’s todo with the industrial military complex, Ukraine war aid, under-writing of World Bank loans, massively leveraged pension funds, and the UK tax payer footing the bill for it all. It’s crazy, but it’s happening and whether you are Labour or Conservative you really need to know the facts. At least read my blog post that summarises things.
If you want to help out, lots of options including Buymeacoffee, Patreon, PayPal, or directly using Stripe. Note, as far as I am aware I am not at war with Russia. Any contribution would be awesome nevertheless, because somehow I appear to be at war with the entire world or universe or something:
